1. Tape the Operating Envelope, Not Just the Footprint
Begin with the exact model and configuration, not a generic one-person or two-person outline. Mark the manufacturer's stated footprint on the floor with painter's tape. Then add separate outlines for everything that must happen around it:
- The full door swing and the place where a person stands while opening it
- The approach path from the nearest normal walkway

- The power-cord route from the pod inlet to the approved outlet
- Any assembly or anchoring access the installer needs at the sides or rear

Build a route card that follows the same path the crew will use. Record the narrowest clear opening at each point, not the nominal door size:
